Nope, brand new brush, never been used before -- do the experiment yourself -- just not a nice shiny S&W revolver side plate! If you see scanning microscope photos of the surface of "smooth" steel you will understand.

I guess it all boils down to the "yer pays Yer money and makes yer choice". Im going with my past experience on barrel life and going to use minimal brushing-nylon if possible, and using either WS2 or HBN. I have a "possessed" barrel of known maker, that appears competitive. Well see how long it stays in the competitive state without a bronze brush being used.
Rhetorical ? ; would not a nylon/poly brush make SS surfaces funky?
