Wanted to post a wanted add in the classifieds, said "only allowed five per year. I have only posted three that I can find.

Only one way we are going to keep this great site up and running and that is through the support from ALL members.
Why would anyone expect to be able to sell things with paying dues? This site is well run and the software and web space is expensive. Seems like everyone wants a free ride. Just my opinion.

And one that was deleted, but still triggered the counter. That's five ads in a 7-month period -- at no charge.
NOTE, if you were to sell a SINGLE $1000 item on Gunbroker you would pay $41.25 in fees more than TWICE our Silver Membership which gives you unlimited classifieds for 12 months.
NOTE WTB listings count the same as classifieds.
And YES we did lower the number to FIVE, which was originally six.

Ok boss let's look at this from a different stand point
Let's split the supporting members in half
That works out to just under 50 k in dues not counting site donations and sponsors.
Now how many freakin hours do you personally spend a day vetting new members and moderating? Site maintenance, programming and all that other good stuff it
takes to run this show.

I personally would drop the free classified adds to 2 per year for non members. Or, even better, charge a small percentage for all sales period. For the content and knowledge, available to all, this would still be the best site on the web at any price. Just do it!!

I did a little membership drive on another site recently. The paid member to freeloader ratio was less than 10% there also. I played the educational angle for a few days then tried to shame them into submission for a while converting about 25 freeloaders to donators.
I understand the object is not to limit posters and content but if I had a website the classifieds and a "lounge" forum would be paid member only access.
The amount I've learned here is priceless when you try to put a $ amount on it. The amount I've saved making purchases in the classifieds has more than paid for my paid membership.

We spend thousands of dollars a year on guns, reloading equipment, powder, bullets, or ammunition and rifles scopes but are too cheap to pay $20.00, for the privilege of using the best shooting forum on the web.

I’ve noticed some names pop up in classifieds on many different forums who aren’t donating. Just use them to buy and sell for free. It’s the way of the world. Some people don’t have a problem using the system and complain about it not working to there benefit. While us other folks pay our way and are happy without complaining. Pay your dues and sell all you want!!! Life isn’t supposed to be free. Donate donate donate.

Most forums you cant view pics etc without becoming a member only little thumbnails. Should be some gold member only forums and gold member only classifieds to sell but everybody can view
Just asked a simple question about the rules which state five a year, I only had three. I was trying to buy not sell, in fact I think all my adds were want adds not sale adds. So all you assholes can go piss up a rope.
