Chronograph Suggestions ?

I have had my CED M2 pretty much living in my vehicle since I bought it and yesterday the dependability took a nose dive...( Me thinks too many atmospheric changes )...It served me well and was a good unit.......R.I.P.
Suggestions for a replacement ??....There is an Ohler unit in the classifieds but I was wondering if there has been anything new besides Lab Radar that is easy and dependable that isn't dependant on a sunny day.............Thank's for your input.

Can't strap anything to the barrel due to tuners....

Regards
Rick

Everyone has their own favorite, but I don't think you can beat the LabRadar
for accuracy and ease of setup. There's a learning curve to getting optimum position for different rifles, brakes or cans. You'll need to get the battery pack and a solid base or tripod, depending on your setup.

I've been using mine for 2-3 years and think it's one of the best investments
I've made.

Get the Oehler 35 and just go shooting! No messing around with settings, and will read from 14 caliber up to 50 caliber with no issues. :D:D

All I've ever used for years was an Oehler 35P. Picked up a Magnetospeed V3 last year and used both for a while. Eventually we quit bringing the Oehler because we found the V3 was reading so close to the Oehler's readings it just wasn't worth the hassle of the bulk and set-up with the 35P.

This is a fine chronograph. I had one and it was the cat's meow. I build a permanent base for it, when I had a home range. After I sold my place, I found I was using the Oehler less often. On a busy range, it was a PITA to unload and set it up. I got a MagnetoSpeed, also accurate, but soon got tired of keeping the strap tension adjusted and the change of POI when it was on the muzzle. I sold the Oehler, kept the MS for a backup, and purchased the LabRadar.

I now Chrono just about every shot I take, be it paper or long range steel. I really appreciate how fast I can adjust it, to different targets and distances. I just loosen the ball head and aim it, thru a straw mounted on the aiming vee, tighten, arm unit and shoot.

I believe everyone should buy the chronograph they like best and meets their particular needs.

I had great results from a Chrony Beta Master with a printer for a long time. Then not, and I can't figure out if it's the sky conditions or the instrument.

I bought a LabRadar last Saturday, and although there are a few quirks to understand, I've got it figured out and I'm unlikely to go back. The convenience is simply too great to ignore. I will probably buy the external trigger microphone for a little more flexibility in the set up.

The time to set up, the to travel to the range and back, and the cost of components makes this an easy choice, and I'm a tightwad. If I fiddle around getting set up, then can't get good measurement, waste expensive bullets, and add wear in a barrel, the labradar earns its way quickly.

I have a Chrony, a Magnetospeed and a LabRadar.

I take the Labradar to the range with me every time. I bought a small tripod on Amazon to mount it.
I get my rifle set on the bench, set the labradar on the tripod about 3" to the left and about 1" behind the muzzle, align the labradar to the target, and start shooting. Very simple, very quick.

Get the free app for your smartphone, and operate the labradar from it. Much easier than from the labradar panel.

Went with the Oehler 35 Shiraz has listed in the classifieds ( Gotta' Love Dem Classifieds ) . I have been shooting through one of them for years over at a friends range. His (my friends) is as old as they get and he had a problem with the electronics last year. Oehler took it, fixed it and had it back to him inside of 10 days from the time he shipped it completely on their dime. Set up time with the 35 goes a whole lot quicker if you put the 3 screens on a single long pole then mount it to a stout tripod.....Looking very forward to it showing up.....Thank's Again for all of your input............

I have used Chrony Gamma Master I am willing to sell, it was my dad's and I don't have a use for it. Does not have the printer.

Also have an Oehler Research Model 33.

PM me if interested.
