Chronograph not picking up shots in bright sunlight anymore

I'm not sure what is happening but it just doesn't seem to work anymore. :)

first time in 23 years of using one. I didn't realize a friend was shifting from a 300yd target to 100yds. 58gr V-Max at 3416 according to the last reading it ever took.

Try it on an overcast day - it might work again.

Looks like a few computers that needed the same treatment. :o It's the ultimate Ctrl Alt Delete. :o

Sorry for your loss. if I understand correctly someone was shooting at a 300 yard target, and then switched to a 100 yard target with a lower bullet trajectory? This is a good lesson for all of us to learn. AR shooters also need to remember that their sights may be much higher than the barrel.

You need to keep it level. Looks like it's leaning to the right a bit. Oh...and you missed if you were aiming at the "O"

Ive heard rumor about this problem with chrono brands....besure and have them folded all the way out...otherwise they will not read properly...looks like you had it set in a v-shape ;D

i'v killed TWO chronys and wounded the third...all because of the same mistaske! i must be a slow learner. i could not get readiangs, so i kept lowering the scope thinking the bullet would now be closer to the electric eyes and they eventually did. one was with an ar that has a 2.5 inch sight height. i now string a red target dot midway doown the metal post and aim directly at the red dot and being most of my sight heights are 2 in and more, the bullets go about 1/2- 1 in below the red dot and i almost always get a reading. i later saw the same setup described by german salazar.

I would send it back to them for repair!LOL I had a friend who let a guy shoot through his new oehler 35 and blamo,he shot two of the eyes right out of the stand.

www.shootingchrony.com has special considerations for these types of situations. Don't ask how I know. See the products section and you can trade in or up grade. Call them up they are very good to work with. Oh, they are not water proof either.
Centerfire

Replace it with a CED Millenium-II. They put the electronics on the bench and nothing expensive (just plastic/aluminum) in the line of fire.

Get a Steinert Superchrono one time. It sits about 20" below your line of sight and measure a total of 50" or so above the unit with about 30" width and there are NO light bars to play with. Super sensitive to sonic waves. New models coming out soon with wifi or bluetooth to an ipad or phone I think. Or....you could get the Chrony fixed.
