It's funny how loaders want to reduce ES/SD and then ignore it exists and believe one shot can be used to define it's behavior.

how many of you that claim there are no flat spots actually GRAPH charge weight vs speed ???
you can calim all you want, 40 years of data says it does happen....
maybe you never see it because of lack of skills...zinggggggggggggggg
Lots of ways to “skin this cat” but they all take preparation, attention to detail and will cost time and money. Stick with whichever way you decide to go and you ll get there.
My biggest advice whichever method you use ( ladder w/chronograph, LabRadar or ladder without velocities and doing them later) is make sure your barrel is broken in and you ve reached max velocity for your loads; ie: probably 150-200 rounds on a 223. Have seen lots of guys “find the load” right off the bat and then a hundred or two rounds later you find pressure/sticky bolt issues. Ask me how I know!!

Plenty of graphs have been on this website. Plot every shot not an average. Put error bars on the graph.
Data posted on this website by someone other than me that I put in Excel and asked Excel to caculate error bars which represent the calculated spread due to ES. Don't remember if it was one shot or an average for each data point. It shouldn't matter which. Based on the shooters data the ES is calculated to be about 20. Just looking at a line thru the data ignores the ES. I think you will find that top competitors don't look for flat spots. You need an R squared value of around .98-.99 to show good correlation. A best fit straight line thru the data is interesting. Other data may look different but the idea is you cannot ignore ES when plotting data. I think I have reasonable skills.

All my barrels are 28" and 1" or bigger at the muzzle. I have shot a lot of groups with the Magneto Speed on and off. The only thing I noticed was a change in impact. Since I am not a competitive shooter this is not a problem. This has been discussed a lot here and a lot of folks do it. I already have my flame suit on.

I have had it on a 1” barrel and a heavy varmint. It seemed to only change the impact. On my other slimmer barrels I have had it change impact and group sizes.
real ladders only have ONE SHOT per powder increment

sorry that is group shooting not aladder and no flats cause the graph is not complete...no line from begining to end. pretty sure i am right no ladder graphs
i would hazard a guess your gun collection aint normal( not bad just not normal)

What is your idea of not normal?
i have multiple rifles and most are under 3/4" dia, some are up in the .9's and one or two at 1" or more. you implied all of yours are 1" ore more and long.

I'm the guy that shoots over 100 shots to better understand ES and SD of a single loading. The thing I can tell you from my chrono data while doing ladder testing at 600 yards is that it is odd how all the charges tend to line up in a nearly perfect sloped line on the velocity chart as the number of shots per charge increases.
I do this testing with barrels I don't have a competition use for (the mediocre ones), and it has changed how I view my load development and the convenient fictions of the internet.

Several HV and a couple straight. Probably why I have had such good luck with the Magneto speed.
I couldn't care less about crony number of "flat spots" while running a ladder

The point of showing the graph with the error bars (velocity, not groups) is that you could have experienced a reading from within that range vs what you happened to observe, which would completely change your view of a flat spot. I'm not going to argue that one might (or not) exist but you are being fooled by believing a single shot.
Care to elaborate on your load development for comp barrels with your better understanding?
