Our distributors had some great sales running before Christmas. I looked at the order my pard had put in and asked him in my own lovable way, "Why the hell did you put 2 Remington 22/250s in that order?!!!" He responded by telling me to look closely at what they were. Heavy barreled ADLs with VLS style camo varmint stocks. At the price, we could put them on the shelf for way less than $500 out the door. But why two? I asked and he said, "You don't have a 250 do you? How many paychecks did you miss this summer? Who's ran this shop 6 days a week and got to hunt only a couple of times?
Anyway, the kid thinks about the old fart and appreciates my efforts.
He even has figured out the crap trigger and made it a crisp 2 1/4 lbs, good enough for ghog slaying.
I bedded it the next day it arrived.
Then the Howa order came in and I purchased a Mini action in another caliber I have never owned - 222. ( You hear that snert? )
Mounted a VX-3i side focus 4.5 to 14x, makes a light, compact, 10 shot varmint rifle.
Of course, projectile and powder assessments have been made, die sets ordered and by spring they should be ready to rock.
Can't wait till the beans sprout!
