ChoateUltimate Varmint Stock 4 Rem 700

I just saw this stock at Combat Stocks website and it looks like it would be a preety good stock. Anyone with any info about the company and or the stock. Thanks Frank

Big, heavy, ugly, kinda crude. But it works.

I have the Ultimate Sniper stock on a Savage and would not get another although the gun shoots very well in it.

It is just so ugly!

Get a Bell and Carlson.

The varmint stock is nice and has a flat bottom forearm if you want to shoot off of bags, I just so happen to have one I'm in the process of bedding. I asked a few on here about it and got great information. The aluminum v-block is pretty much a solid piece even in the barrel channel. I intend to do a little drilling on the block where it doesn't touch the action and rough it up a bit, also this is a remington 40x single shot so I'll fill the mag well with shot and epoxy leaving it about 1/4 inch below the action, then bed it with devcon, so the v-block should almost act like a pillar, I said almost now.
Anyway, overall I like the stock. see my bedding stock thread question.

I currently hace a Choate ultimate vamint stock and would not really reccomend it. When my barreled action is in the stock, my barrel and action slant to the left, about a 1/8-1/4" off the centerline. I have determined the bedding block is canted in the stock causing the problem. At first I thought I had made a horrible mistake when I barreled the action but dropped another barreled action into the stock and had the same condition. Just my $.02.
