Cheddite primers

Found some Cheddites yesterday for my shotgun, anyone using these ? If so what do you think of them?

Ballistically they are fine. Some (including me) have had trouble with them piercing and this is with mild loads. You won’t see a hole but rather a black spot. Makes for short firing pin life. If you don’t have this issue then load up. They work about like a ww209.

Some of the non American primers are slightly larger in diameter. Using them once will require the use of them in the future. Seating a few will quickly tell you. The way many trap and skeet shooters use up components, this may or may not be a problem.

I tried them yesterday, had only one fail. I tired it a second time and it fired? Could it have been a hard one ? I shot three boxes and that was the only issue.

Of all the 5,000 count sleeves of Cheddite primers I've used, I had one FTF. It went on the second try. After the round, I popped the trigger out of my MX-15. The hammer spring was cracked. When you shoot a P gun, you keep a spare.
