Jeff Bartlett Owensboro Ky has some small rifle primers these are knockouts from 223 brass, he explains on the website. possibly almost ok..overpriced but they r there

Was on gunbroker last night...that is just a hilarious chit show there!! $945 for an 8# H4895. Don't think so. I'll shoot a PCP air rifle before I'd give somebody that kind of jing. I know, I get it, but there are people laying in the wings waiting for just such events...

Wow. That is Krazy.

Was it Einstein who said "insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results". I may not have the quote or its author quite right, but you get the idea. It is insanity that this happens every...4 years? People who buy into and create the insanity make it difficult for those of us who do plan ahead and seek to maintain a sufficient inventory to last until the insanity wanes and they crawl back into their holes. Not sure who is worse...the price gougers or the insane that support them? Either way, without one there is not the other. They feed off each other.

Not from 223 Steve,

"Lake City small rifle primers, removed and recovered from loaded 1972 Lake City .30 Carbine ammo."

Who in the hell is buying and enabling these idiots?
Dusty, - This is part of an old gunbroker scam where a buyer advertises items an an exurbanite price and a co-conspirator or even that same person under a different user profile BID's to bolster the price or even Buys it basically from their self to create an atmosphere that these gouging prices are what the market will bare.
Who in their right mind pays $300+ bucks for 1000 CCI 450's ?? - Some of us still make half way decent money but not enough to even consider paying that kind of cash for primers. - I paid $62.60 per 1000 for CCI #41's and that is about as high as I'm willing to go.

PRIMERS

Lake City small rifle primers, removed and recovered from loaded 1972 Lake City .30 Carbine ammo.
Testing indicates 99+% reliability when used in small rifle caliber applications and subgun ammunition.
Perfect for .223 ammo. However, there is a small amount of residual powder (WC820) trapped under
the anvil, which needs to be screened out before loading. Call for additional info.
Primers are repacked in "recycled" commercial type primer packaging. DOT certified for shipping.

$75/1000; $300/5000

48 year old primers that have been punched out, that needs the residual powder removed from under the anvil, and somewhere near 1 per 100 won't go off. All for the near give away price of $75/k. I guess if you were completely out and desperate that might be a solution. I will respectfully decline.

Right. But, depends on each person's situation. If, for whatever reason, someone is caught short and needs to reload - they have the choice of choking on it or not shooting.

I also think we need to consider how long this shortage will last and whether it will get better or worse. Just a few months ago 10 cents per primer looked outrageous. Now, it's over 20 cents.

I've planned for worst case which IMO is, primers will eventually not be available to normal citizens under the incoming régime. - I was in good shape before SHTF and will continue to pursue not just primers but everything I can as far as reloading components go to help out those that I can.
