CHECK THESE NUMBERS OUT

I finally broke down and checked out the 6br, shooting those 105 Berger VLD's over the chronograph yesterday.
I have never seen number crunch like this in more years that I'll admit to..
My Green rifle shoots those bullets like little lasers at 350 yards.....
I ran 5 over the screens and had 2 left so I just shot them also.....
Not bad for a old groundhog shooter that only in the past few years got into this extreme accuracy stuff with a BAT SV action and a 8 twist 28" Pac-Nor that shoots into way less than a inch at 350 yards most any time I ask it to.......

What is the bore size and u shuld try Varget.hahahha........pretty nice...did u use a different hold for those last two..??? ...Roger

Preacher--Love to see those kind of numbers and a group like that at 350 yards. Are those numbers with the Wolf,Russian) Sm Rifle primers?

Just a caution to new readers. 31.5 gr of Reloader 15 is a hot load and may be WELL ABOVE MAX in some rifles. As with Varget--start at 29.5 grains, with 105s) and work up.

There are also some fast lots of RL15 and some slower lots. I can't put more than about 30.8 gr in my rifle, with 105s) without getting loose primer pockets.

That 31.5 load of RL-15 is real close to the edge with the 105 Berger VLD but the primer pockets are still tight after 15 times out. I do anneal them with a BC1000 every 4th time out and then clean them in my ultra-sonic.
The primers are the Russian Small Rifle Mags in the White box and they have done very well in both my 6BR Pac-Nors but the other one,Blue Rifle) will not take that amount of powder with out locking the rifle up, it likes 30.8 of the same lot of RL-15, and will not shoot the 105's quite as good as the Green one will, but no groundhogs are ever missed with it inside of 350 yards.... that one will stay inside of a inch all day at 350 yards with a little help, that's as far as my range is here at home)
The last 2 I just held on the top edge of that 1 1/16th circle, gotta love those 12X42 Nightforce BR scopes with the NP2DD reticule...
Heres that old Green rifle that was a 3 Blue till the sun got to it, the new Blue rifle I squirted with Auto clear coat and it is always going to be Blue and very shiny too....
I'll build me a nice cement bench one of these days and rid myself of that rickety old wooden one I've used for 20 years.....

Us fat guys would appreciate it if you would trim the mulit-flora rose bush in the background. You skinny guys never seem to get tangled up in it very much :D . I'll bring the 8 twist XP-100 with me and we can see if it will stay on the paper with those 105 A-Maxes :)!

VERY NICE SHOOTING! My hats off to your determination to make it better all the time.

The reamer has a 110 freebore, and it seems a bit long for those 105 Berger VLD's, they are only in the case about a 1/3 of the way jammed at .023......
Not the whole length, just from where the shoulder and the boattail start to curve down....
I would rather have more bullet in the case, but the rifle sure don't seem to mind it...

That is exactly where the velocity is coming from, the Blue rifles freebore is only .090
and you can hear the powder crunching when you seat the VLD bullets, and it's just to much so I backed it down to 30.8 and it works fine.
The Green rifle has a larger chamber than the Blue rifle too, I use two different FL bushing dies from Harrell's for the 2 rifles.
I think the next reamer will be ordered with a .100 freebore for a happy medium.

That 7 will be coming along at warp speed now that I have conformation that BAT finally is sending my 3 lug Magnum bolt, after a 6 month wait ) so I can get the measurements figured out....
I do have the Harrells brake installed and my new flow through coolant system is ready and waiting...
I kinda hate to tear that Blue rifle down though 'O)
