Check out Erik Cortina's 1.3" 1000yd 5-shot group!

It's a straight 284 that was designed by @Alex Wheeler, improvements based off his extensive time and experience testing various modifications.

And which Alex is going to hold very closely to his chest...

I asked.

He politely declined to divulge any details.

Which I can fully understand given the nature of the sport and how what's perceived as a competitive advantage is worth something as long as it's perceived to give one's competitive efforts an edge over what others can bring to the game.

I would love to have one of Alex's rifles. From everything I have read, the man is a true craftsmen and produces some amazing rifles as he is on an endless quest to make the perfect rifle. Constantly testing and experimenting. While others do the same, few have found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
Another one of those unicorns that I will dream of but never possess. Still one can dream.

I don't even ask what the dimensions/changes are.

I'm not shy about asking, I learn stuff that way.

I won't ask a question I already know the answer to, as that fit's my definition of a "stupid" one.

And I don't take it personally when the answer to a question I've asked is a polite "no".

(Alex's answer to my query was very polite.)

At this point in my life, and in my shooting endeavors, I'm disappointed that I'm only learning about Alex and his talents so late in the game.

But who knows if it's really too late to get a relationship started? That's a question I don't yet know the answer to.

The mere perception of an advantage is the downfall of many!

Alex is all about improving the sport and trying everything possible to make more accurate rifles. Problem is, a guy will try a few reamers for testing and find something that really works. Everyone wants to know what it is but truth is, There isn’t much a smith can hold onto that gives them the upper hand. It take a lot of work and money. It’s like trying to ask guys for hunting and fishing spots. Or a secret recipe.

I don't even ask what the dimensions/changes are. That way I don't have to feel bad, like I'm lying, when people ask me what the differences are. I also don't try to reverse engineer the dimensions/changes either which I feel would be a breach of trust.

I know what all 8 of my BRA reamers are....And I know what works for your 284 is as useless as tits on a boar in my 6mm. :)

Tom

P.S. Nice shooting Erik, that's a pretty darn good gun.
