Check channel velocity diff-Oehlers chrono?

Guys

What are the typical velocity differences you find between the two channels on an Oehler chronograph-say for an average of 3000 fps?

Kevin

Same here. However, there can be differences in the signal processing, signal conditioning) electrical delays in the sensor electronics from channel to channel, giving you a fixed offset in measured velocity. So, even if the physical spacing is perfect, the unit may record a slight difference.

I actually adjusted the position of the center sensor such that the displayed velocity difference was zero, effectively compensating for this manufacturing tolerance induced delay.

None of this makes a hill of legumes as far as the utility of the system - it is still the best out there in my book - too bad it is no longer available to the unwashed masses.

Just my $.02 ...

Cheers,
