Been seeing this coyote running the river at daybreak, probably hunting to feed pups in a den.
Set up just before sunrise , in my river blind, no rifle just my Franchi 12ga 3.5 inch mag with Carlsons Buck kicker choke tube.
been monitoring this yote on a trail cam for about a week,I knew he'd be by. I cut loose at dawn with distressed downy woodpecker call, called five minutes, let up called three minutes, just when it got fairly light he came sneaking on the opposite side of where I was set up,30 yards, when I slammed him with this load, not a good day shredded.Calling is easy in summer but time is scarce. You can see where the full charge hit him , rolled him a few feet at about 30 yards, I've killed quite a few with this set up.Summer view of blind, most coyotes hug the river banks, either passing through or when responding to a call, this boy came in left by the sand bar about 30 yards from my blind took him through right port hole.
