Cheapest annealing machine???

I didnt feel like hijaking another treat but it got me wondering more about something ive been thinking about for awhile now.

Im on a budget because my girlfried is insisting on a larger bed haha and i will be purchasing a gun safe soon but... I have been annealing for a little while now only by hand in the dark. As you can emagine i dont feel like the cosistancy is there and i would love a time controlled way of anealing my brass, but im on a budget and the best price i have found i $375. I was wondering if there were any machines out there that are less automated and cheaper or (even prefered) a way to make a machine with a timer that could be relatively cheap.

Time is not a factor, i dont shoot tons and i have a lot of time. So even if i cant anneal 200 peices of brass in 10 minutes i am totaly fine with that.

Just looking for some ecperiences and pointers. Thanks a bunch.

I use case holder in a cordless drill and set the timer for each case. Timer goes off I take off the heat grab the case in a gloved hand and drop it in the water.

They used to have a model 200 for $250 or model 250 for $200, I forgot which, manually operated. I guess they don't offer it anymore.

Save up and spend the extra needed for a Bench-Source machine.....

My hunting buddy is going in for half with me on a Bench Source. That is another way to get your cost down.

I wish I had a bubby to share some of he cost of quality reloading equipment but they are broke and more concerned about spending as much money as possible on every touch screen phone that comes out.

I would love to see some pictures of you setup morrison.

How much are those Bench Source machines going for? I cant find a price.

I agree with Imorrisson17.

I got one of these last month from Todd Kindler at the Woodchuck Den for under $50. It provides a 360 degree ring of very controllable blue flame. I stand my cases up in water, start the tool down just below the shoulder, work it up the neck during a 15 second total dwell cycle, then tip the case over to quench. Finished Lapua cases are near identical in appearance to those that are new out of the box.

I don't have a need to be in annealing production, so the money I saved went toward buying a Hawkeye angled eye piece bore scope from Bruno Shooters Supply.

. How long do you set the timer for? And where do you start, right under the shoulder, on it or??

I saw that they sugested 15 seconds a case, i dont know about this setup but the way im doing it now the neck would be glowing red at 15 seconds.

The flames on that thing don't look to be all that intense, hense the longer dwell period.
