After running out of my highly renowned custom 68's I thought to try some 70 grn. SMK's in my 8 twist 6 mm BR. happily with 34.2 grns. of Varget they produced a group in the .090's after trying loads with more and less powder. ( 100 yds. )

The 68 FBHP bullets I ran out of did not shoot as well as the SMK 70 HPBT with the same load criteria, almost but not quite as well. The other groups I tested were good but the target I intended them for is the IBS type and to get an X the bullet must not touch the 10 ring. Other loads tested were 34.5 and 34 grns. Varget. The 68 hpfb bullets would allow a 50 but not good enough to get an X ,,,,,,maybe a lucky one on occasion. I follow you on the fast twist overstabilization, thanks. How were your other groups? 68 gr bullets in an 8 twist are being over spun a bunch! With that twist barrel I doubt you’re getting the most accuracy out of your custom bullets. Sometimes I’ll see a fast twist barrel that shoots the light bullets well but most of the time shooters with that combination shooters are leaving some accuracy on the table.
