Chargemaster with after market scale?

Is it possible to plug a fx120 or such into the chargemaster port? Maybe a make a wiring harness to adapt them together? I wonder why Rcbs doesn't make a conversion.

I am going to venture a no answer and here is why. RCBS does not mention anywhere that I have seen what their communication protocol actually is. So while the connector is unique I have never seen a pinout nor have I seen any published data as to communication protocol or language used. I have seen a few automatic tricklers used with the FX120 and I believe the FX120 uses a RS232 standard comm port serial interface. While old it is easy to adapt to. Apparently the comm protocol is available. Found it on page 51 of this document, pretty standard. They include all of the commands also. While all well and fine this does nothing as to the RCBS.

I have seen a few guys make their own trickler systems for use with balance beam scales that would pick up a few kernels of powder (depending of course on the powder density). They worked pretty well. Anyway, I don't see RCBS offering an adapter or any information on their protocol. :(

Buy one of Adam's auto tricklers that works with the FX120i. It is plug and play. There is a thread in the reloading section. Awesome piece of gear. It costs less than a Charge Master.

I went from a ChargeMaster to a McDonald autotrickler linked to an Entris 64-1s. Super accurate and super fast - I'm slow and still average 50 case charges per 40 minutes. Its very relaxing to sit back and watch the system spit out one accurate load after another. BUT it's expensive.

RCBS has a very good delivery system but the scale (IMHO) sucks. Should be a simple fix and I bet the market would support an improvement from them.
