Chargemaster Lite problem

wanted to post an update on my Chargemaster Lite (non-detachable scale version) situation.

I contacted RCBS by phone. i told them them what the exact model i owned, time in service, and the nature of the problem. they told me normally, the Chargemaster Lite with the non-detachable scale was not repairable. in warranty products of this model are normally replaced out right.

my Chargemaster Lite was 9.5 months past the one year warranty. they suggested that i send the unit to them in California, they would then look at it and then make a decision as to what would be done going forward. i sent the unit along with all the original packaging, manuals and bill of sale.

Today, after a couple of weeks, a brand new Chargemaster Lite of the same model appeared at my door.

just wanted to say that i am very pleased and impressed the way RCBS handled this issue. i will not hesitate to purchase an RCBS branded product in the future. i plan to send an e mail to RCBS thanking them for the manner in which this issue was handled by them and informing them of this post on Accurateshooter.

Swadiver: call RCBS first and explain the problem too them, and see what they say first, before you start all these ideas being given. You just might find they will give you a shipping number to send it back too them and more than likely will replace your unit with a new one and ship it back too you. Try them FIRST, then proceed.

I agree with the above. Talk to them and be up front with date of purchase. Either they will fix or tell you that the warranty has expired. I had the same issue with a 1500 that was 2 months out of warranty and sent it back to Brownell's on their forever guaranty. after RCBS told me I am out of luck with them I then got a balance beam scale and forswore the electric ones.

RCBS has always been a super fine company to deal with. Glad they came through for you with a new replacement. I really thought they would either repair or replace your unit that went bad or was acting up. I know they have always had good customer service for me and several of my friends when we had a issue.
