Chargemaster Lite problem

unit a few months under two years old. has seen a lot of use. motor has stopped functioning to either dispense charge or trickle. sending it back to RCBS. out of warranty period.

anyone else have this issue?

My CM Lite locks up from time to time. My issue has been a powder kernel getting caught in the mechanism and freezing things up. I just have to gently rock the metal outlet tube back and forth to free things up and the tube starts spinning again. Might be worth a try.

Loaded close to 1K rounds in the last 6-8 months that mine has been owned. No problems whatever so-far. Have a Hornady unit that will no longer calibrate and often overcharges - can't give it away.

Like MISLMAN mine goes to sleep now and then and a simple joggle of the pan wakes it up again. I have had to disassemble mine to clean spilled powder off of the strain gauge which made it give very erratic readings. Used almost every day in shooting weather. About 5 - 6 years old now.

i was able to get the motor to run, very intermittently and very slow. will not trickle manually or as part of the final loading of the charge.
on it's way to RCBS

I had some issues awhile back, but no problem with warranty date, etc. Company replaced entire unit, as something in the panel went out of was not working right. RCBS may well replace your unit also, for just the shipping fee it cost you to return it.
Call them first and see what they say.

thanks much. will do so

I hope you get it fixed at a reasonable price. I have been out of the shooting world a couple or three years, my loading room is a disaster the river backed up with ice and my loading room got flooded and I haven’t been in it since. Plugged the chargemaster in to let it warm up why I got some stuff ready and in about a hour it was dispensing 39.5 grains of 2000mr with no issues, I double checked the weight with a tuned 10/10 and it’s right on! Was very pleased!.... first group with new brass in a factory other than the stock Tikka T3 lite in 7-08 went .316 Cc three shots !

It’s not hard to open it up and look for loose wires or cracked solder joints, have you considered that?

You pay the shipping from Arizona and it's yours. "NO WARRANTY" PM me if you're serious with your email address, I'll look into shipping cost and UPS and let you know the cost. I have done the soda straw mod on it too and will include them.

Swadiver: call RCBS first and explain the problem too them, and see what they say first, before you start all these ideas being given. You just might find they will give you a shipping number to send it back too them and more than likely will replace your unit with a new one and ship it back too you. Try them FIRST, then proceed.
