Changing buttstock - angled to flat

So I had Mark Pharr put together a 6XC for me last year on what was previously just a factory varmint rifle. The build has turned out to be everything I could've hoped for and more. Now... that said, I'd like to start getting a little more serious with it and do some prone shooting, informal (or even formal) F-Open, etc. However, the angled buttstock is going to be a problem. Has anyone ever modified a standard angled buttock or added a block at the rear to provide a wider, level (and parallel to forearm) surface to ride in the rear bag? (If such a mod/attachment is even legal under the rules) There isn't a lot of aftermarket for this particular rifle, so it's either I run with what I've got, modify it somehow or *gasp* order a 96% inlet Benchrest from Richard's Microfit... and I'm no woodworker. :)

Thoughts or suggestions?

Yes I have seen them made out of wood, aluminum and even brass. If you search on this site you should be able to see. Matt

Thanks guys. Matt, I'll keep digging. Probably just haven't used the right keywords. The elevation change when firing isn't a huge deal off of the bench, but it's going to put me at a disadvantage when shooting prone and having to reposition after every shot.
