Changes in Devcon?

Does no one else use fiberglass flock?
It has higher tensile and compressive strength than any metal additive, and it does such a nice job of tweaking the consistency of the mix.
Just my $0.02.

I stopped using Devcon several years ago after they changed the hardener. I never had any problems with it before that, and the 1lb kits would last me a year, no issues. But after they changed the hardener, it would go to pot a few weeks after I opened it. Obviously, if it was taking me a year to use a 1lb kit, I'm not doing nearly as much bedding work as a lot of full-time rifle builders, but then, I farm for a living, and only do rifle work when I've got the time.

Chopped strand is good too, but storage requirements can be difficult depending on where you live. In general any chopped strand material should be kept between 5-30% moisture content, otherwise you risk trouble in resin uptake. It is good for increased impact resistance in a resin matrix.

I seem to remember DevCon having to replace some resin about 10 years or so ago. It was going bad on the shelf. If you sent your resin to them they would replace it.
Hey, I just had this happen to me with one of the 4.25 oz bottles. Hardener is fine, but the resin turned gel-like, and un-pourable. Stored at about 60 degrees, no freezing or hot conditions. This is just the standard slow Devcon. jd
