Change Caliber

Savage Model 12 LRPV ~ 22-250

I love this rifle but...when I burn this barrel out can I change the caliber to pretty much anything I want, maybe a .223, with a new barrel and changing the bolt face [not sure about the terminology] due to the smaller case head?

That's great...I was wondering about this the other day after a great day of shooting and a couple of adult beverages and thought...why not?

Glad I asked.

Now I just have to figure out which caliber to go with.

Just buy a few new bolt heads and try em all, one receiver, one stock, one scope, and a zillion barrels, whats not to like.
