I just purchase a new Computer and am trying to change background color WAY 2 BRITE hard on Old eyes

The brightness adjustment might be on your monitor.

My newer Dell Optiplex has several buttons on the side of the monitor.
One in particular is for adjusting brightness. I had to tone down web sites
such as this, or others such as Benchrest forums that use the same back-
ground for the forums......Some forums allow users to change back grounds.
This one (Xenforo) does not. Only the site administrator can do that. Also if
the monitor has a contrast setting, play with that a bit.

I know what you mean as I find it's hard on my old eyes as well as I've always had very sensitive eyes to light. Where ever possible, I switch to "Dark Mode", which makes reading much easier on my eyes. But this website does not provide that feature and the computer setting for Dark Mode does not affect all websites, including this one.

Many months ago, I did write to the administrator on this website about seeing if this feature could be added to this website. But I never did get any kind of response. So, I guess it's something not worth giving any attention to. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
