A die is actually too short for a fixtureI wouldn't think either one is best choice for dialing in a Wilson die. I'd rather use a collet. I've got full set of 5C and ER40 and would probably use the ER40 set-tru but either will work well.
4 jaw chuck??
Show me a pic of that chuck5 jaw chuck. I like overkill.

I thought you were trying to set a custom die up dead true in a lathe in order to modify it so that the areas that you modify will be truly straight with the areas that are not touched. Was joking. I use a 4 jaw and have a 6 on the way. I dont think the person that said "4 jaw" understands what I'm trying to do.
I made pretty much the same thing years ago. Works well. Commonly (or not so commonly?) known as a Bell ChuckI made this to hold Wilson and Newlon dies.
Lead hammers are great for knocking in that final tenth or so on chucks, jaws, parts, etc. I've got a dedicated little Cook on the lathe cartand a lead hammer.
