Hey guys,
It looks like PTG makes Long Action .223 (.390") bolt heads. I need to figure out whether I have a large or small firing pin and ask them if it will fit. I'll also have to look into whether the extractor, ejector, etc. will work, or whether I'll need to find replacements. The rifle I have is an old staggerfeed, so there are a lot of legacy parts in it.
I think it might be a fun project to try affixing an AR mag inside the Choate stock, windowing the front, and seeing if I can make an extended COAL .223 mag that will enable me to shoot ELDMs.
The product page notes that the bolt lugs will need to be trued by a gunsmith. Is this correct? I was under the impression that this isn't necessary since it's a floating bolt head.
