Chamber reamer question

Hello,
I have a question for you guys.
I form all my brass for the .17 remington fireball from lapua 221 fireball brass, and then turn necks.I also use redding bushing size dies. That being said
I would like to have build a tight neck .17 remington fireball barrel made.
I was thinking of having the cutter ordered, and made by PTG. But not sure what I need to order.
This way I could send it to my Gunsmith with the barrel to cut the chamber for me. If my loaded .17 fireball necks measurement is .201" / .202" what do I tell Dave when I order, and what exactly is it that I'm ordering a finish reamer, chamber reamer I don't know it there is a difference in the two..also would it be wise to make up 3 dummy rounds of sized and bullet seated to the length I want to send in for throat and minimal chamber specs?..I have never gone this route and not sure of the process of ordering a chamber specific cutter/ reamer..what ever it is I need to order..
Thank you

I've done this a few times, and you have the option here to simply fill out a blank reamer print for exactly what you want your new chamber to form. I've done it based on new brass, desired bullet seated desired amount, and emailed the print to Dave Kiff for reamer set order.
If google search doesn't provide a baseline reamer print to begin with, you can get this from Dave.

You need at least a finish reamer(I get piloted) and go/no-go headspace gauges. Ask your gun machinist/barrel finisher if he wants a rough reamer(some do not, they drill). Then you send your reamer set, barrel, and action to your barrel finisher for chambering, and have him make you a headspace gizzy from the muzzle cut off.
If you're really comfortable in predicting or you hold fire-formed outcome, you can fill out a print with this & order a sizing reamer, which would be used to cut custom die blanks(i.e.Wilson blanks). But if you're already shooting the cartridge and your dies are known working well, then this is not needed (more for wildcats).

Make up two or three just as you want them to be. Call and talk to JGS or Manson Precision with your 'idea'. Chances are, the girls at the front desk will transfer your call to the person you need to talk to, right then. Ask about recommended neck clearances and any other questions you might think of.. Either will e-mail you a print for your OK. Send your dummies to the choosen maker with written instructions pertaining to what you want (you want a finish chambering reamer with removable pilot and gauges to go with it. Ask your gunsmith if he has a flush system and if the reamer needs to have "coolant grooves". If the gunsmith says "yes" to the coolant grooves, make that known to the reamer maker). If you want a sizing die reamer, let the maker know right up front, not as an after thought 6 weeks later. Tools made by either of the reamer makers I've mentioned will far out perform a tool made by the maker you mentioned.
