chamber reamer...if not pt&g who?

I am trying to get chambered a 6x47(222 rem mag) and would much prefer using a pt&g reamer. Things have changed at pt&g and i' m not sure for the best. I'm into the second week of getting the specs of the reamer nailed down. I have talked with two very nice people who don't seem to know what the measurements of the reamer mean. I've measured my prepped brass carefully but now pt&g's reamer measurements are mostly taken from a point .060 in front of the boltface? I tried translating my numbers to theirs and explaining these to the nice person but they did not know of what I was asking as to chamber length...I didn't want .027 gap from case mouth to end of chamber. I got a reamer print yesterday with a chamber length that was ridiculous and "drawn" by someone other than the person I had spent time with. I was unable to get an answer yesterday after a few hours or listening to a machine that did not give a number to either of the two people in the print dept. I am not giving up but am frustrated. Who else should I consider? Thanks.

Welcome to the club. It took me 8 (that's right 8 ) phone calls to finally get a working print on the last reamer I ordered from them. Nearly a month of wasted time hearing "I'll send that print right out." Things have definitely slipped at PTG.

Any/every time you ask JGS to make a change to your reamer, (as long as it has not yet gone into production) Cary will email a copy to you for viewing and approval. Great people to deal with 8)

At PT&G you need to speak directly to Dave Kiff. PT&G is a little quicker at getting the reamer to you if its a custom grind or even quicker if on the shelf. But, if you want your print to match the reamer and get it right without several calls or emails it is best to use JGS.

I've always received my emailed reamer print from PTG. They even send a rough copy for you to double check before the order gets placed into the system. When the reamer arrives at a LATER date, the print is always included.

Henriksen, Manson, JGS are all viable options! I just made an inline seater die and chambered it with a used JGS reamer that I purchased off of here. It cut flawless. Not saying they are the best, but pretty darn good. My Henriksen and PTG reamers cut flawless chambers as well.

Patience is the key to solving a lot of problems. Plan ahead...

Manson is good. Jgs is good. Henriksen is real good but slow. Any of those 3 will fix you right up and know what theyre talking about while doing it

I myself have switched to JGS and could not be happier. Custom 6.5x284 and 300 WM. Total of 2 weeks to my door.

Little more expensive, easily less headache.

OK, I called JGS this morning and in less than 3 min the person advised she was e-mailing a reamer print and asked which format should she use for my system. I had a copy in my hands in less than hour! Took it home and compared my measurements and felt a few minor changes would fit my needs. I called and was promptly transferred to the print dept and a very knowledgeable polite person had my print in front of him, so we were able to talk reamer measurements and my changes were approved/acknowledged as doable. This print is to be e-mailed for my final approval. It can't get much better! Thank you all for your advice. JGS has a new and repeat customer.
