I have never had a problem with a reasonably sharp reamer cutting, no matter the brand. PTG makes good stuff too. Sad to hear about some of the latest issues with them going dull in the middle of a job. I am sure they will fix it. The issue I have with them is the way they handle the orders. Example, Recently I had them make a reamer that no one else listed. OK. Told delivery was going to be early Feb 2016. OK fine. I expect it to blow out past that date a little. Called last week to check status and I was told it was in the "Mitsubishi Room". Apparently that is some new trick machine/room in their plant and it was there to be fluted prior to grinding. Too much information!! I dont care if they carve it out of old wagon wheels with a Barlow knife and use tobacco spit for coolant, I just want it to be made right and to know when it will be at my door. I am not intimate with their plant operations, logistics, or machines, and dont care what tool its on or which tool operator quit, which "military order" is taking up all their time, or whatever. Just make it and send it. I don't need the confusing stories about stuff I know nothing about and doesn't impress me. Sounds like they have way too many balls in the air over there. But they do have a lot of good stuff so I hope they get it sorted out.
