Chamber Gauge

Here's a neat little tool that takes all the guess work out of how far to seat the bullet in relation to the lands. You will need it fashioned with the same reamer that was used with your barrel/chamber so that everything matches. With just a little practice you will be able to "feel"when the ogive barely touches the lands as the shoulder nestles fully in the gauge simulating a chambered round. You can then adjust the seater die plus or minus however far off/into the lands you want that particular bullet.

Worth its weight in gold!

Jim: I've also had those chamber gages made by my gunsmith, using my reamers, but when you start to get erosion in the throat, the gage cannot be used for bullet seating depths. "Temporary" use only.
