Chamber for 6.5x47

Need some help! I'm in the planning stages for a Lapua 6.5x47. Dimensions for the Lapua brass were posted here http://www.websitetoolbox.com/tool/post/6mmbr/vpost?id=1056446
This drawing shows a 39.4mm,1.551 inch) distance from the case head to the shoulder neck junction. The pacific tool gage reamer drawings I've seen such as here http://www.6mmhot.com/6.html all show a 1.541 distance. I don't understand how this can be correct? I now have some Lapua brass set aside and it does measure 1.551.

My plan is to have this set up w/ a .294 neck dia and to be able to shoot 130gr Berger VLD's and 123gr Lapua Scenars. I want to be able to keep the OAL well within and AICS magazine and have some room to chase the lands with the Bergers while still staying within the magazine. If I can just make sure the reamer drawings make sense I think I can put together the rest of the puzzle.

Thanks.

Joe

I'm in the process of attempting to get that answer from him. If any one else has the answer by all means chime in.

Thanks.

I have two reamers for 6.5x47, one is a standard neck, the other a .289' nk. Both are throated for 123g Scenars.

Both prints show the measurement from bolt face to neck / shoulder union - 1.545.

Looks to me that the prints on 6mm hot are for a wildcat version perhaps, with altered shoulder...the shoulder is 1.4025 on the 6mm hot print and 1.400 on both of mine.

Anyway, the standard reamer I have chambers factory ammunition no problem, so my guess is this,1.545') is the correct, standard) measurement.

If your still in doubt contact PTG, they are very helpful.

Thanks, as I said I'm attempting to get that info from them. So far they have not answered the question, but I know they are busy, so I'm not surprised that it may take awhile. I do have a current reamer print direct from PTG showing the 1.5409 distance, so these are not prints for a wildcat. Perhaps the wider neck and the cartridge being positioned on the bottom of the chamber allows this to work. Not sure I'm new at this. I also know that the dimension on the Lapua brass is 1.551 and not 1.541. If you are curious check your brass.
