6x47 Lapua chamber with 6XC reamer?

That you can use a 6XC reamer to make a 6x47 Lapua chamber by holding it short approximately .050". Is this correct? Someone tried it? The thing is I've got access to a 6XC reamer but would like to ream one barrel for 6x47 Lapua and if this is possible I could safe some bucks.

And... What is really the difference between the different 6mm cartridges with the 6.5x47n Lapua parent case? Like 6-6.5x47 Lapua etc...

I'm sure the right gunsmith could make it work but if it were me I would just order the reamer its not much more than 100pcs of brass is going to cost

I'm gonna talk to my gunsmith. It would have been very practical with the 6XC reamer though.
No one who have tried it?

And yeah, what about the difference between the 6x47 Lapuas?

The 6XC and 6-6.5x47L are dimensionally different at the shoulder/body juncture point and Web. At the shoulder the 6XC is .454" and the 6-6.5x47L is .4578". At the web the 6XC is .467" and the 6-6.5x47L is .472". Basically, the 6-6.5x47L parent cartridge, the 6.5x47L, is slightly larger that the 6XC case. I'd opt for the correct reamer myself. All measurements listed were taken from PTG reamer prints I have that came with the reamers.

I see. I know my smith also have a 6.5x47 lapua reamer. Gonna check with him if it's one possible to switch to a 6mm throat.

The 6.5x47L reamer can not be used to chamber the 6-6.5x47L. The 6.5x47L reamer was ground for a 6.5mm cartridge neck and the 6-6.5x47L reamer was ground for a 6mm cartridge neck. This can not be changed.
