Chamber flush system build log.

Dang you guys jinxed me with all of this bypass valve talk... Mine isn't working. I vaguely recall if you back it out too far you have to take it apart and move some small widgets around...

Who's got the best set up for attaching to end of the barrel?

I think I'll make a couple thread adapters for common muzzle threads and use an o-ring to seal it to the barrel.

I'll need something universal also.

I've seen the Gretan set up (and similar)
I've seen people clamp a hose straight to the barrel
I've seen the pipe thread in the end of barrel option.

So far I'm leaning to build something similar to the Gretan one, like @LVLAaron and @CCM did,
Can you guys share what fittings you used for the nozzles?

My hold up on this set up is that nozzle. The ones I can find are 3mm holes and I don't like that it will be restrictive to the flow.

I found drilling a barrel for an NPT fitting to be a real pain in the ass. Maybe if I used the proper tapered reamer it would be easier... but my little air nozzle set up that I push on and then screw down to the end of the barrel hasn't let me down yet. And it's fast to put on and remove.

You've got machines. Make the hole bigger.
I should get one in hand but I assumed wall thickness would be an issue.

Did you make or buy this fitting?
I can't seem to find one like it.
if you bought it what's it called or part number if you have.

1/8 NPT here 99% of the time. Occasionally I'll thread the muzzles and hold them inside the spindle in a double ended bushing. For long barrels I set the spindle speed to zero to freeze the spindle after dialing it in. Free hand drill about 5/8" deep with a 3/8" drill and run a tap in with a ratchet.

I ordered a check valve to install near the muzzle clamp. If you stop the flow, the plumbing drains and you end up with air in the line, presumably all the way to the floor. Re-starting the pump makes it spit and spatter oil out until all the air is flushed out. Hopefully this prevents that. Or most of it.

I thread the muzzles first and then screw my rotary onto the barrel. I have adapter in all the common muzzle threads.

If the barrel isn’t getting muzzle threads I’ll just chuck it and cut some on the end real quick. It doesn’t have to be indicated perfectly as it will be getting cut off anyway. Takes 5min tops.
