Chamber cutting fluid

I know that there are a lot of good cutting oils available but I tryed something on the last chamber & had good results. I've always used Cool Tool on stainless for a bunch of years and it has a good track record. I stumbled upon a couple bottles of liquid moly from back in the days that "prepping" the bore was the rage. Long story short, 50% moly, 50% cool tool. 100rpm's & probably the slickest chamber that I've ever cut. I polished it but really don't know why. Out of habit I guess. Might be worth a try if you're not in love with what you're using now. I have also been trying it on different operations with the same results. It also seems to help TICN coated cutters.

Good info Larry and thanks for sharing. Sometimes the home brews are the best thing going. :)

Paul

Back in the "Blackstar" barrel days, they had a mix on their website for chambering those contrary barrels. It was one part Tap Magic, one part Moly Dee, and one part sulfur cutting oil.

It was still contrary to do.
