CFE223 my least favorite powder

very pleased with cfe223 in my .35 whelen. 64.0 grains gives me 2700 fps with a 250 gr bullet. About 200 fps faster than anything else.

Works very well for me in several cartridges. No complaints, gets good accuracy and velocity, compared to other powders I used.

My go-to for the .308 and Hornady 150 Interlocks. A little staticy, but who cares. Shoots great. Sometimes people get wrapped up in insignificant stuff.

Like was mentioned earlier, it works well for many of us when the context is thrown charges.

I find it to be good for p-dog loading (223 and 204) and I am still experimenting with the idea of how long it goes without cleaning on those trips. So far, no complaints with the performance out of the gas guns or the bolt guns.

I like it for my .223 target rifle. It groups better than Varget. If if a few grains stick to an aluminum powder funnel or pan, i just tap it.

I have not noticed any stickiness in loading this powder. I use it in my 35 Whelen behind a 225 Sierra SBT with great accuracy and phenomenal velocity for this old timer. Will use it this coming November on Elk. Meters like water.
That is my experience with it and 8x57 with 170 and 180g bullets. I use a Lee Perfect Powder measure. Not hunting this year. Good luck !!

A couple of comments.CFE is a spherical that is slippery and runs thru a measure with ease. If its not metering well its because you apparently have a static electricity problem. A bit of graphite or sntistatic sheets for rubdown or an antistatic spray used on your equiptment should get things functioning properly and metering well. As far as running dirty, most powders need to get hot enough to burn efficiently. CFE223 is a fairly slow powder for a 223 or 308 and if used in moderate loads it probably will run sooty. I run it warm both in my ARs (223) and bolt 308. The 308 gives exceptional accuracy with 165 Accubonds, this is a brn guns that groups wonderfully at 200yds. The 223s with 55 and 60 gr do well at higher level loads. I tink its too slow to use in my AR10s.
