I’m a Cerakote applicator and have done several scopes using H series.
I’ve made a special jig/apparatus that clamps plates to protect the lenses.
It goes into the blast cabinet just like the gun parts.
Apply Cerakote while it is still in my jig hang in the oven at 150-175 degrees for a couple hours or so.
It will come out with the lenses condensated but clears up in a hour or so.
I’ve done vortex’s Leupold nightforce Acogs lasers red dots etc.
I won’t Cerakote a cheap scope I’m afraid they will melt.
That being said I try to talk customers out of doing it as most shooters I know including me change glass about as often as we change underwear.
And you can’t reverse Cerakote.
here’s a S&B to match the rest. H nd C series dont match close enough for some customers.
I dont blast scopes. I use tertiary butyl acetate and wipe the scope down several times, ALWAYS use powder free latex gloves when handling. For racking I use light gauge tie wire and spin the eye piece all the way out then mask rally well. I also use a vinyl cutter to cut high heat vinyl for masking, strips, ovals, circles for lenses etc. If you’re going to do any kind of volume like me you will need a vinyl plotter. How do you hang your scopes for painting and oven curing?
I take it you spend some time masking the power ring and part of the turrets?
Do you ever get sand into places where you don’t want it?
