Central PA benchrest

First off, thanks for allowing me to join. I’ve been into reloading over the past 10 years and have recently wanted to get into Benchrest shooting, not exactly sure which class yet. I’m looking for somewhere about 1-1 1/2 hours from me to shoot, I live outside Carlisle, PA. I know about Williamsport but haven’t done any long range shooting.

How far is Ridgway from you?

3 hours. If I can get comfortable shooting further I’d like to go to Williamsport. It’s a goal of mine to eventually shoot accurately at long range.

I know ot might be a little far for you, but Towanda Riffle and Pistol club puts on a 300 yard score match once a month, good guys and good time.

You do not have to be a member to shoot at a scheduled match. The groundhog matches are a good time and ultra competitive. Relaxed environment and everyone there is willing to help if you want. Next match is July 26

I would do a search on this site. Or ask your questions here, perhaps in a new post, directly. I suggest looking into some local club matches to get you out of the gate. If you are shooting a cartridge that is competitive at 600 or 1000 yds., don't shy away from going. The attendees will help get you on target, and once you see that it's not that hard, you will love it......Have Fun

Hammer down is 9am. Arrive an hour or two early and strike up a conversation with anyone there, everyone is willing to help. The match director visits this site regularly and is likely to chime in at some point.

While more than 1-1/2 hours drive, Anderson Sportsman's has Benchrest shoots.
They aren't too far from Clearfield.
Also, if you're looking for 600 & 1,000 yard then Reade Range also has shoots.
