Centra LR erratic windage.

I have fitted new front and rear sights on my Target rifle over the winter. The rear is a new to me Centra LR , front is a MEC Goliath 30mm.
What can be going on with this rear sight to make windage adjustments behave improperly ?
I have a 300-600-800m match tomorrow and when finalizing my zero at the range today the windage did not move point of impact until l adjusted it 3 times. I did zero all the knobs and scales with the allen set screws previously to doing the load development . Is there something I am missing that can make this an issue? Is there process to zero the knobs and scales besides the obvious?

You need to test the sight with a dial indicator, and make sure it is moving properly. It should move about .0026” per click / .0313” per revolution. When reversing direction, you should get a full click’s value on the first click (or very close), and be back to full value for sure on the second click. If you aren’t meeting these standards, there are some adjustments on the Centra sight, but I don’t have one in front of me to tell you any more.

What Doug said. Clean the threads, lube the guides. Did the knobs come loose.

If it doesn't track with the dial indicator it needs attention! There are two versions out there. The smallbore with 10 clicks perinute and the LR with 4 clicks per minute.

How much were the three movements and the situation. A iron sight zero is not a perfectly stable thing. Give me a little more detail and maybe we can help.
