Centra Front Sight

Longtrain

I'm using a Phoenix front sight with a Centra iris on the front and a Centra anti glare tube attached to the iris. The anti glare tube has male threads on one end and female on the other. The female threads attach to the iris which leave exposed male threads on the front (shooters side), of the sight.

The ring from the iris, which is removed to mount the anti glare tube doesn't fit the threads of the anti glare tube.

A Centra setup I purchased second hand for another rifle has a ring which covers those exposed threads, however, I cannot find a Centra part for this cover ring. Champion Shooters did not know if a part existed but, admitted they don't stock everything from Centra.

Any help or guidance is appreciated.

LT,

I have exactly what you describe but used the ring that came off the Iris to cover up the exposed threads on the sunshade. I simply used black electricians tape, cut down to the width of the thread and as I recall just one 'wrap' around the thread, allowed the ring to screw on tight enough that I can use it to twist the iris size to suit. Can't recall though if I used a bit of adhesive on the ring threads also, but it's not moved in three years! I don't believe the correct blanking off ring exists.

Richard.

Sounds good, thanks. Now where is that roll of tape...?

Hello Centra, you can make a small mint off making a cover ring for your sunshade. Don't know why they didn't think of it...yet.
