LR Iron Sight Question.....

I'm starting to piece together my Irons for my 1K rifle and have a simple but hard to find an answer to question.

I plan on running a Tubb match rifle front sight(22 mm) and here is my question.
I want to use a Centra front iris w/ cross beam, will the Centra aluminium sun shades attach to this iris?
Also when I use a Centra front diopter, will their sunshade also fit?

Thanks for the help.....

If I was purchasing a front sight for 1K shooting, a 30mm would be the only way to go. With a .5 diopter you can see the number boards easily and the sight lets more light in than any 22 mm model.

Get the adjustable iris that goes from 4-6mm.

Buy once and don't look back.

Bob is right about the 30 mm ,cry once

Agree with the others. For 1k, 30mm is a big plus. Just order a RightSight long range sight, it comes with the shades and iris.

+ what is it 4-5 now? I have a dedicated sight for my three primary rifles. Palma, L-R and M-R. IMHO, there is no equal to a Rightsight.
I hope this helps,
Lloyd

Silver Eagle,

The external threaded end of the centra sunshades will screw into their diopters. The internal threaded end of the sunshade will screw over the end of the centra iris, once you have unscrewed the end ring of the iris. This leaves the external threaded end of the sunshade facing you and potentially catching the sun, unfortunately the end ring you have unscrewed from the iris has a larger thread so is not a direct fit, however I just wrapped a couple of layers of insulation tape over this thread and managed to screw the ring onto it so it looks finished.

I use a 22mm foresight without any issues as do many other people, in fact I know more than one that has tried the 30mm and gone back to 22mm. Regarding the extra light that a 30mm front sight provides, some would argue that the rear sight aperture and filters are there to control the amount of light entering your eye, rather than the front sight.

Good luck.

Richard.

Generally speaking, Centra products will fit on Centra, Gehmann on Gehmann, etc. Mixing and matching parts gave me headaches when it came to ordering and trying to figure what was going to interface with what. Pick a brand, and buy its accessories and you should be good to go.
