celestron cavalry spotting scope (daily bulletin)

I bought one to use from my 100 yd bench, it is worthless. I cannot even make out 22 caliber holes at 100 yds, and no it is not my vision - it is 20/20. At best it is like looking through a piece of dirty plexiglass, it will be returned.

I didn't expect much for $40 but it is even less useful than I expected, I thought sure it would be useful for 100 yds.

Editor: Sorry you had that experience. The verified purchasers providing reviews of this optic had more positive experiences -- saying the resolution was fine as long as they stayed off the high end? Did you try at 35X?

Got mine in the mail today. I can easily see 22 cal holes at 100yds. Great bang for the buck item.

Mine came yesterday and i had about 15 minutes to look through it before i had to be somewhere else. So i started scouting rooster peak which is a mountain about one mile away and after getting it focused i very plainly could see under the pine trees there, and make out different limbs on each tree. No i couldn't make out pine needles, but very plainly make out limbs. next i looked at a stop sign about 400yds away and could plainly make out the screws holding up the sign.

I hope to get to the range next week and see how well it works there. Well worth $40, so who now has them still?
