CED chrono trouble

Good day all of you out here.
Yesterday i want do a Satterllee test on 25-06 load development but there was no way to get the CED chrono working. After any shot the display shows E0 which means according the manual the projectile will seen only by passing the stop sensor.Everything was checked several times from the batteries ,infraredsunscreens, support arms, start and stop sensor propper place.I'm realy demoralized , the chrono is nearby new, used him previously 3 times only.

Sounds like it’s time for a magneto speed or a labradar

Did you try swapping the leads over and checking whether the error code changed, would eliminate the leads being the source of the problem. I've had my unit for the best part of fifteen years, only used sporadically and as long as the batteries are good I've not had any issues.

Make sure the sensor lens is clean and not obstructed by anything, and put a fresh battery in the unit. The only time mine ever got finicky is when the battery power was low. If the start sensor is still not reading then try swaping the cables as suggested by Leeman and you should at least be able to tell if you have a bad sensor or cable if the unit then only reads the start sensor. You could probably do this test at home shooting rubber bands through it. Hope you get it figured out, it’s a nice chrono.

Similar to @Leeman input, make sure the leads are connected to the display in the correct (Start/Stop) order. The IR sky screens may not work properly when exposed sunlight, try covering them with black plastic.

At the bottom of their webpage, there is a section on variables that effect readings. Including a troubleshooting test(no firearm needed) for the sensors. Lighting and reflection are big issues with sky screen units. Suppressor blast is also a big issue with screen units.

Finaly i did all checks ,replaced the monitor battery and did a test at home with with an airgun and powered the iR sensors by electrical power line and it works again perfectly. The problem was surely the battery pack. Now i have to replace them ,maybe Amazon or eBay cut offer something. The tecnical part of CED is not verry deep regarding proper installation procedure and possible common issues of the chrono.
Thanks for your kind help

It's also good to triple check the wiring when you set up - it will produce that error if you cross the leads from the screens (go ahead - ask me how I know).

Mine did the same even with a fresh battery, etc. I've had times when it worked beautifully, then times when...NOTHING! Midway has a special on Magnetospeeds and mine is on the way.p

Additionally, if the plug in pins are bent, even very slightly, your readings will be as you described. Experience talking. By the way, they are great chronos.
