This is exactly what I find. With a tight 0.062 firing pin, I prefer CCI 400. With a stock 700 I almost always have to use CCI 450’s to keep the cratering to a minimum.

I use 450s in multiple calibers. I formally used Winchester SRPs. I didn't have to change any loads with 450s.I've read the search results, but they don't answer the question.
Is a 450 harder than a 400?
Are dimensions different?
Is the 450 hotter than a 400?
Don't care to hear about Ren 7.5's or any other primers.
Just want to know the difference between the 400 and the 450's
For me, its just flattening of the primers with CCI400. I havent had any cratering or other problems from my memory.Please describe the pressure signs are you seeing ?
