CCI primers

I have about ran out of CCI BR4 primers, but have found some CCI 400.
What if any is the difference between the two?

From what I gather the only difference between match and regular primers is the care with which they are run on the assembly line. Federal says they put their 'most experienced' person on the line for match runs. Chemistry is, supposedly, the same. Frankly, in todays market, I'd grab them!

I use them interchangeably without seeing a difference. Everything I have read and heard indicates the BR primers may be subjected to, at most, a little better quality control.

I can't seem to find it now but I remember seeing a sheet that showed the BR4 and mag primers had a slightly thicker cup than the CCI 400 primers

BR4s and 450s have a thicker cup. The BR4s are supposed to have more QC but I hear from numerous people that the 450s shoot better for some reason. Either way I agree in todays market beggers can not be choosers.

I was around when the br primers first came out. Supposedly they were to be made on 1 machine on overtime, That is what CCI claimed. The cups are thicker . They are very very good primers and i have used a lot of them in the past. I still have a carton I'm saving for a match. Now CCI is owned by the same company as federal.
