I just have to say that I can't for the life of me get any decent load to work with a CCI BR4 primers in either my 6br or my 6x47L. They seem to be much hotter than the Fed match primers I normally use so I'm wondering if they are causing too much disturbance in the case upon ignition? The report is noticeably louder. For my 6x47L I want to push it a little harder than I can now with my Fed's. I shot it last weekend in single digit temps with sierra 107s and 38.5 gns of H4350 out of a 23" barrel and the fed primers were fairly flat. I was getting a consistent 2925 fps but I know I'll have to back this load off in the summer and I don't want to do that or I won't be taking much advantage of the case capacity/performance. I want to find a load that works with these damn CCIs. Ive tried Backing the loads off, that don't work and neither does stiffening the charge. I've just never had any luck with BR4s in any of my Krieger's or Bartleins. What gives!?Why so much love for these damn things?
