Has anyone actually measured the height of the CCI 450 primer? Their chart says .113 but I get .1195 on 3 calibrated micrometer.
I use my Mitutoyo caliper, and when I measured them I get .120 to .121. I would call your .1195 good for comparing my .120's.Has anyone actually measured the height of the CCI 450 primer? Their chart says .113 but I get .1195 on 3 calibrated micrometer.
If you have to ask.....Who cares ???
Thx, that's exactly where I'm headed.I use my Mitutoyo caliper, and when I measured them I get .120 to .121. I would call your .1195 good for comparing my .120's.
My Alpha brass pocket depths are at .122 and since I like ~.003 of crush I'll set my tool to seat them to .005 below flush and I find it's ok for the taller primers to get a little more crush.
On the chart I found the .113" is CUP height and .122" is "primer height". On the same chart #400 and BR4 indicates .120", and that is what you guys measured, I'd go with .120".Has anyone actually measured the height of the CCI 450 primer? This one:I’m not sure what “chart” everyone is referring to, but I think it was a private survey of just cups measured. That should be verified as source and process. For what it’s worth here are SAAMI Specs.

Hmmm???You're right about the .113" for cup height, but the chart I'm looking at shows .109" for the BR4's and 400's.
Both the numbers are cup heights, not overall heights. Different primers, different cup heights. How can overall height be less than the cup height? Or am I misunderstanding your post?
