CCI 400's

Posted this on the Reloading forum, but have not received any feedback as of yet, so I thought I'd post it on here as well, hope I'm not violating any rules doing this).

'Anyone using CCI 400 primers for the 6br? If so, what results have you had?'

Thanks,
Jim

Personally I have had better results using the CCI 450 or Rem 7 1/2 with 65 Vmax to 95 gr BIB's. Bear in mind my location Alaska, average temp 45 - 65 deg F shooting at close to sealevel to 3500 feet altitude. The CCI 400's were good just seemd on average the 450's & Rem 7 1/2 shot better for me in my 6 BR 22 inch 1 - 10 twist Lilja barrel. Quite sure you could play & find a great load for the CCI 400's Good Luck

12man, I have 100 7-1/2's, but can't find any more of them nor any 450's. I'll be shooting 95-107 gr'ers. out of a 24' 7.5 twist broughton 5c barrel, so my results may vary.

Thanks,
Jim

Hi I have a 6br 1-14

I use the cci 400 with 30 gr H 4895 + 68gr. tips.

The 450s are the mag primer. Do you back off on the powder? If so how much?

Ya never know till ya try it.

Thanks for the reply, but I would be very surprised if anything lighter than 80 gr.'s would survive in my 7.5 twist barrel.

I have taken the advise of many experienced handloaders and always back off on powder any time I change any component,s).
