Cavern Cove Rimfire Challenge (Series)

I haven’t thought to post this before but hopefully somebody sees it and comes out to join the fun. Search the title to find location and date of next event.

We have a monthly Precision Rimfire match in North Alabama, held on the 3rd Sunday of every month. This is a very beginner friendly environment, as well as being a challenging COF for the seasoned competitors. We have quite a few accomplished competitors, including the MD, that are willing and able to coach anyone who asks for it.

It does follow the same rules and divisions, but is an Outlaw series. We host another NRL22 sanctioned series on the first weekend of each month at a different location.

I will try to post pictures from matches or unique stages, and update with the next match date regularly. At this time, the matches are “$25 cash on the day”.

Well I need a better camera to get pictures of the targets in action...

Shot 7 stages and an optional “50/50 Money Stage” ($10 to shoot for 50% of the stage pot, other 50% to the club for prizes and maintenance). A couple members made a new target I’ll call the “Thing on a spring” and it was a bugger to follow up on. This became the obvious choice for the Money Stage. About 35 people on the line today, with quite a few first timers.

Thanks to Levi, Todd, and Matt for keeping the series going and putting some nice little prizes on the table. And congrats to one of the ladies who took the overall today. She wore it out!

Next match this Sunday. I’m bringing a coworker for his first time at a match. He has shot before, but never competitively and is looking to buy his first rifle. I figure we can get him hooked this weekend
