Cases won't eject

Hi All:
I recently purchased a used 112BVSS in 223 and 75% of the time it won't eject. The bolt just drops the fired round on the follower !! It is a newer Accu-trigger model. I have an older Savage 112BVSS-S, in 223, that ejects just fine every time . What is the problem and how do I fix it ?
Thanks in Advance
Tom Nichols

There is a big long thread on this over on Savageshooters.net... the one 'weak' spot on Savages is the inconsistent ejection. I've heard a number of things blamed... weak or crushed ejector springs, from hot loads) that don't push the case against the extractor firmly enough, oversize or out of spec bolt faces, too strong ejector springs, suggested to clip a coil or two like one does on AR-15 ejector springs), etc. It seems to be a very inconsistent problem, as I've had it come and go on one individual gun based on what brass I was using,Lapua .308 w/ larger head dimensions and heavier weight vs. Winchester .308)

Savage isn't alone on this... I had two new production 700VS's a couple years ago that were PITA's in this department as well, would literally dent the case mouths on ejection), but never to the extent that my Savages are, and I've never heard it as widely spread of a problem.

Hopefully one of these days Savage will pull their head out and fix this... hopefully it's something that would work as a retro-fix for all the existing users out there

Mike & Milanuk:
Thanks for the info !! I saw the discussion topic on Savage.net, but it said "bad extraction", and mine extracts fine, just won't eject !! I have some Lapua 223 brass on order. Maybe this will fix my problem !!
Thanks Again
