Cases Mouth Flaring

I have heard back from both Remington and the distributor here is Australia. Remington told me to contact the distributor for replacement and the distributor has told me they are waiting to hear back from Remington.

My cases don't look anything like those tumbled cases above. I don't know how you are tumbling and sizing your brass, but I don't have any issues using my set up.

I run 340 Weatherby in a 308 full length Baer die and it necks them down with no trouble. They are .030 bigger then the die and it doesn't crush them. I bet if you chamfer the outside and run them in the die they will be ok. Matt

I got some flaring like that with my first foray into the world of wildcat cases. After it was all said and done using a neck turning mandrel took almost 100% of it out. The cases shot fine.

Looks like a (manufacturers) pinch trimming problem/error to me.

Just resize them, as mentioned above, trim if needed and reload as usual. Don't make a mountain out of a molehill.

I could resize the brand new brass I paid well over $1 a case for, or they could work on their quality control and provide a product that doesn't need wildcat type prep to use. It is a factory cartridge after all and I don't need to do similar things with Lapua or Norma cases.
