How to build your own case lathe without spending up to $650.00
When you look at the pics, you will see just how easy it is.
Start with an A.C. Gear Motor.
Found mine on E-Bay with the mounting bracket attached.
Mine turns at 124 RPM.
Use your choice of a Quality Neck Turning Tool.
I cannibalized the back end of a Forester case trimmer, knocked out the T-Handel.
Use whatever collet size you need.
Mate the case holder to the motor shaft, and you are off to the races.
I held the case in the collet with one hand, turned it on while holding the collet collar.
Motor torque was enough to tighten it sufficiently.
Turn off motor, quick snap of the wrist opposite of rotation and case is loose.
Beautiful neck turned cases.
There really is no learning curve here.
Couple of runs on some cull cases for feed practice, and away you go.
Used it when I was shooting BR, and PPC.
Works like a charm.
This is how I did it.
I'm sure you guys will have numerous variations as to case holding devices to attach to the motor.
My cost was around $110.00 for the motor, capacitor, and Forester cutter, several years ago.
Really it all depends on motor price.
If anyone makes on let me know, and do a Show and Tell like in Kindergarten. ( LOL ).
Stay SAFE, and keep them in the BLACK.
