The round rat tailed wood file works great. Stan had a couple...a small one and a bigger one. The bigger one got used the most.....belted cases that came apart ahead of the belt. Black cloth electrical tape for protection.I belonged to a 1K BR club. Standard equipment on the firing line was a cleaning rod to knock out stuck bullets. The other piece was a round rat tail wood file. The body was taped up to protect the action. Insert file, twist to get a bite on the case, then pull the case out. Several people known for calamities carried one in their range box.
